Preliminary Considerations
  • Norbu is different from other wedding venues in the Virgin Islands.
    • Norbu provides exclusivity, privacy and a one-of-a-kind experience that you and your guests will not find anywhere else in the Virgin Islands. Here at Norbu you can rest assured that you wont be seeing another bride on your wedding day. From the combined years of industry experience to the overseeing of each individulial detail of your wedding Norbu caters to those who want impeccable quality and service. Here at Norbu our focus is you and only you.
  • Before contacting Norbu.
    • You should know the date, estimated number of and an approximate budget for your event or wedding. Please have a few alternate dates in case your first choice is not available. If you have an overall concept or ideas on design, we would love to hear them.
  • Reserving the date in advance.
    • Although Norbu's most popular dates can be booked from eight months to a year in advance, other dates are typically available with less notice. Please contact our wedding professional to assist you with available dates.
  • Legal requirements for marriage in the U.S. Virgin Island.
    • There are no residence or citizenship requirements. There are two forms that must be completed and returned to the territorial court 30 days prior to the wedding date and the couple must personally appear at the courthouse to pick up their license.   • The average cost per person for food and beverage for your wedding at Norbu.
    • Based on our current menus, you may expect to spend an average of $225 per person for your reception dinner and hosted bar. Please note that our menu items and pricing are subject to change. Your final menu pricing will be based on your actual selections.
  • Deposits.
    • Deposits are based on 50% of the combined food and beverage minimum and site fees for the event space reserved. Half of your deposit is refundable with cancellation notice no less than 90 days prior to your event. All deposits are non refundable within the 90 days of your event. The remaining balance of your estimated charges is due 60 days prior to your event.
  • Advising Norbu of exactly how many guests will be attending your wedding.
    • The culinary arts department must be notified of the exact number of guests attending a function within 30 days prior to the start of the event. This will be considered a guarantee, for which you will be charged, even if fewer guests attend the function.
  • The possibility of accommodations for the bride, groom and wedding guests.
    • Norbu does not provide accommodations for your event. Your wedding professional will be happy to refer you and your guests to the finest hotels and villas throughout the island.
  • Local laws in effect for events at Norbu.
    • There is a 10 p.m. outdoor entertainment curfew along with a residential noise ordinance. Our wedding professional can assist you with reception accommodations beyond this time to host the remainder of your evening's entertainment.
  • Weather at Norbu.
    • Year round the island of St. Thomas offers temperatures not greater than 90 degrees and not less than 70 degrees with pleasant trade winds.
 
Norbu Services
  • What Norbu Events, St. Thomas provides for weddings and receptions.
    • Norbu will provide all food and beverages, tables and chairs, linens, silverware and stemware, and staging for your event. The rental of a ceremony location includes chair set-up. This also includes an on-site wedding professional as well as personal server to assist your guests. Please see our Wedding Packages for additional information and rates.
  • Other services or items that Norbu Events, St. Thomas can provide for you.
    • Norbu can provide a wide range of specialty items to help you personalize your event, such as specialty linens, menu cards and wedding guest gifts. We can also assist you with welcome baskets, bridesmaid and groomsmen gifts and a variety of other special amenities to add that personal touch to your wedding day. Costs for all items vary.
  • Accepting delivery of packages on your behalf.
    • Your packages will need to be clearly marked on all sides with your contact information and date of event. We are not responsible for any lost or damaged packages. There will be a per package fee for pick-up and storage. Please contact your wedding/event coordinator for further information.
  • Arranging for flowers.
    • Norbu's in-house floral designer will provide you with a range of local and seasonal arrangements, centerpieces, bouquets, headdresses, corsages and boutonnieres.
 
Photography and Music
  • Photography services.
  • Available music.
    • Your personal wedding professional can help select the perfect musical accompaniment. Choices could include a harpist, steel drum band, classical duos or trio. Traditional rock bands are not permitted due to strict neighborhood noise ordinances.
  • Available beach at which to take photograph.
    • World famous Magens Bay Beach is located just four minutes from Norbu and is a perfect spot to take sunset photographs.
 
Culinary
  • Choosing the food for your wedding reception.
    • Whether your reception is an intimate dinner or a lavish gathering, we offer a range of cuisine from hors'oeuvres and signature cocktails to formal plated selections with wine pairings and synchronized professional service. Your wedding professional will assist you with choosing from our extensive menu and wine list. A tasting can be scheduled to help you finalize your menu.
  • Your options for guests with special dietary needs.
    • We are delighted to offer a selection of vegetarian and vegan cuisines at your request. Our culinary artists can create menus to accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions as well. Please inform your wedding professional of these requests when designing your menu.
  • Bringing in an outside caterer.
    • All events at Norbu are catered by our in house, award winning culinary team of professionals.

  • Using outside vendors.
    • All services will be provided by Norbu Events in-house team of accomplished musicians, floral designers, chefs and photographers. Our years of local experience have led us to craft the finest team the U.S. Virgin Islands has to offer.
